Overview

Lighting has a profound influence on how architecture is experienced, affecting functionality, wellbeing, sustainability and the character of built environments. This interactive session provides architects with practical insights into the design, specification and implementation of architectural lighting across residential and commercial projects.

Hosted at the Lights Lights Lights showroom, participants will gain an understanding of how lighting specialists collaborate with architects from concept design through to project completion. Through a combination of presentation, discussion and showroom demonstrations, attendees will explore lighting principles, specification strategies and common project challenges.

Session Outline

Introduction to Lights Lights Lights

An overview of Lights Lights Lights, their collaborative approach with architects, and how their team supports projects from early concept design through product selection, technical advice, specification and construction.

Guided Showroom Tour

A tour of the showroom introducing the breadth of architectural lighting solutions available for residential, commercial and public projects.

Architectural Lighting Principles

Within the dedicated Architectural Room, participants will explore:

• Principles of architectural lighting design
• Layering light for function, ambience and visual comfort
• Product selection and specification considerations
• Technical requirements and compliance considerations
• Common design and construction challenges
• Coordination between architects, consultants and suppliers

Showroom Experience

A walkthrough of the wider showroom demonstrating lighting applications, finishes, technologies and current innovations that support architectural design outcomes.

Landscape Lighting (time permitting)

A visit to the Landscape Room exploring the role of external lighting in enhancing outdoor environments, wayfinding, safety and the integration of architecture with landscape design.

Parking and Transport

• Limited parking available onsite at the showroom
• There is generally two-hour street parking available throughout the surrounding area
• For those using public transport, the showroom is very easy to access. The Route 59 tram (Airport West to Flinders Street Station) stops almost directly outside the showroom at Stop 33 - Moonee Ponds Junction/Mt Alexander Road, just a short walk from our front door.

• Appreciate the integration of architectural and landscape lighting to create cohesive built environments.

How do I get my CPD points?

A CPD quiz will be sent via Humanitix after the session. The quiz will be open for 2 weeks. Certificates will be sent out to those who have completed the quiz after it is closed. Please ensure to check your junk emails 

I no longer wish to attend the session, can I cancel my booking?

Yes, you can cancel and receive a refund by going to your Humanitix Order Confirmation email > Manage Order > Refund/Cancel.
