Reclaiming the Future of Brickwork | Australian Made. Carbon Neutral. Yesterdays Look Today.
In a market increasingly influenced by imported products, fluctuating supply chains and growing sustainability expectations, Island Block & Paving continues to focus on what it has always done best - developing innovative Australian-made masonry products that deliver real value for architects, builders and developers.
The latest evolution of our Bricks for the Future range is the launch of our expanded and improved Reclaimed Brick collection. Designed to capture the character and warmth of traditional reclaimed bricks while delivering the consistency, performance and sustainability credentials demanded by modern construction, the range continues to grow in both colour choice and architectural appeal.
Why Reclaimed?
The demand for reclaimed-style masonry has never been stronger. Architects are increasingly seeking products that provide texture, variation and a timeless aesthetic without the limitations associated with sourcing genuine recycled bricks.
Our Reclaimed Bricks combine the visual appeal of aged masonry with the reliability of modern manufacturing. Every brick is manufactured in Australia and benefits from the same quality control, durability and supply certainty that Island Block & Paving has built its reputation on for more than 30 years.
What's New for 2026?
Following strong market demand, Island Block & Paving has expanded the Reclaimed range to include four new colours: Tuscan ECO, Char ECO, Grey ECO and White ECO. In addition, our popular Red ECO, Buff ECO and Limewash ECO Reclaimed blends have been further refined to create greater colour depth, improved tonal variation and an even more authentic reclaimed appearance.
The result is a broader palette that gives designers greater flexibility across residential and commercial projects while maintaining the distinctive character that has made the range so popular. Downloadable colour swatches are available at islandblock.com.au.
More Than Just Good Looks
While aesthetics often drive specification decisions, sustainability continues to be a major consideration across the design and construction industry.
Like our wider Bricks for the Future range, Reclaimed Bricks are manufactured using recycled glass aggregates and are part of Island Block & Paving's independently verified Carbon Neutral certified product range.
Current sustainability credentials include:
- Carbon Neutral Certification across the entire sustainable masonry range
- Global GreenTag GreenRate Level A Certification
- 37.6% recycled content independently verified
- Platinum Product Health Declarations (PHDs)
- Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)
- ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001 aligned Quality Management Systems
For specifiers seeking products that balance architectural appeal with environmental responsibility, Reclaimed Bricks provide a practical and transparent solution without compromising design intent.
Australian Made Matters
The resurgence in reclaimed-style brickwork has seen significant volumes of imported products enter the Australian market.
Our Reclaimed range provides a locally manufactured alternative with dependable supply, technical support and a distinctly Australian character. In many cases, projects can achieve substantial cost savings when compared with imported reclaimed brick options while benefiting from local manufacturing and support.
